Dog in a large format

For 6 players the board is oval and measures 83 by 64 cm, for 4 players it is round with a diameter of 64 cm. The marbles are 25 millimetres across. The Dog sits in the middle of the table, everyone sees every move, and the marbles are easy to pick up even with large hands. It plays like the original: with cards instead of dice, in teams of two. A round takes 30 to 50 minutes.

The Brändi Dog XL comes in seven combinations. Depending on the number of players and how deep you want to go, you choose the set that suits you.

Every option includes the board made of wooden elements, 24 marbles 25 mm across in a cloth bag, two sets of 55 cards each, the game rules and a quick guide. The extensions and PLUS centre sections fit the same board and can also be bought separately later.

Recommended age: From 9 years. Not suitable for children under 3 years, because of the marbles.

How it plays

You play in teams of two and move your marbles from the start to the finish. The card you draw decides how far you get, and you may split its value across several moves or give it to your partner. If a marble lands on an occupied space, the other marble goes back to the start. So it is not luck alone that decides, but how well you work together.

The options with a PLUS centre section

The PLUS centre section goes in the middle of the board and opens up new routes: shorter paths, more chances to send an opponent's marble home, and a space that can only be entered from one particular point. The way the game works stays the same. There is a separate centre section for three, four and six people, and the all-in-one option includes all three.

Material & quality

Plywood elements with cherry veneer, carefully finished. Magnets hold the segments together during play, and for storage the board separates again and is easy to carry.

Socially made

Made by dedicated skilled staff with disabilities in a social Swiss workshop in the canton of Lucerne. There the game is produced, checked and carefully assembled.
