Brändi Dog XL · 6, 4 and PLUS sets · For 2 to 6 players · Socially made

Dog in a large format

For 6 players the board is oval and measures 83 by 64 cm, for 4 players it is round with a diameter of 64 cm. The marbles are 2.5 cm across. The Dog sits in the middle of the table, everyone sees every move, and the marbles are easy to pick up even with large hands. It plays like the original: with cards instead of dice, in teams of two. A round takes 30 to 50 minutes.

Contents & options

The Brändi Dog XL comes in seven combinations. Depending on the number of players and how deep you want to go, you choose the set that suits you.

• 6 players Standard
• 6 players with PLUS centre section
• 3-in-1 set: 3, 4 and 6 players
• All-in-one: 3, 4 and 6 players with all PLUS centre sections
• 4 players Standard
• 4 players with PLUS centre section
• 4 players with extension for 3

Every version includes the board made of wooden elements, 24 marbles 2.5 cm in diameter in a cloth bag, two sets of 55 cards each, the rules and a quick guide. The extensions and PLUS centre sections fit the same board and can also be bought separately later. The sets come ready made up in one parcel; together the parts cost less than separately.

Number of players: 2 to 6 people depending on the option
Recommended age: From 9 years. Not suitable for children under 3 years, because of the marbles.

How it plays

You play in teams of two and move your marbles from the start to the finish. The card you draw decides how far you get, and you may split its value across several moves or give it to your partner. If a marble lands on an occupied space, the other marble goes back to the start. So it is not luck alone that decides, but how well you work together.

The options with a PLUS centre section

The PLUS centre section goes in the middle of the board and opens up new routes: shorter paths, more chances to send an opponent's marble home, and a space that can only be entered from one particular point. The way the game works stays the same. There is a separate centre section for three, four and six people, and the all-in-one option includes all three.

Material & quality

Plywood elements with cherry veneer, carefully finished. Magnets hold the segments together during play, and for storage the board separates again and is easy to carry.

Ideal for

For game nights across generations, for the holiday home, the group room or the club house. The large board and the 2.5 cm marbles help wherever eyesight or fine motor skills are fading: in care homes, day centres, toy libraries and play groups. And as a present for anyone who has played Dog for years and wants it properly large on the table.

Socially made

Made by dedicated skilled staff with disabilities in a social Swiss workshop in the canton of Lucerne. There the game is produced, checked and carefully assembled.
